All candidates must be:

A minimum of 16 years of age OR

15 years of age, turning 16 before the end of the calendar year (December 31).
CLARIFICATIONS ON THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT
Officiating requires a functioning level of maturity, responsibility, coping skills, and the ability to manage coaches and players. Therefore, candidates must have the confidence and ability to communicate to the Head Clinician, Assignors and OVA Staff directly, rather than having a parent or guardian do the communication on their behalf.
IMPORTANT - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Candidates will progress through 4 Sessions and MUST complete/attend all four sessions to pass.
Please plan your work, school and home schedules to ensure you can attend ALL SESSIONS as required. If you are not able to complete/attend all four sessions, please be aware that your participation will be recorded as a failure. Cancellation requests will need to be submitted to the OVA directly within their cancellation policy deadlines, so please read the registration form carefully.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL REFEREE CLINIC

Next OVA Clinic: May-September annually
Although Beach Volleyball participation is growing every year, regrettably, KDVC does not currently offer Beach Referee clinics due to a lack of both available events to referee in our immediate area and available clinicians.
If you are interested in becoming a Beach Referee we suggest that you contact the Beach Referee Chair or Search for a Clinic on the OVA Events Calendar.
Sign up on the KDVC Wait List to be one step closer to success! Joining our wait list helps us try and ensure that clinic spots goes to our local area candidates first. By joining our wait list you will receive a pre-Registration link via email once the next clinic has been finalized. However, once the pre-Registration deadline expires, the OVA clinic link is then posted publicly to the OVA website and registration becomes "first-come, first-served", so you will need to make sure to register before the KDVC pre-registration deadline to guarantee your place.
Registration for a clinic will usually close once the maximum number of participants is reached OR 5 days before the In-Person Theory, whichever comes first - so don't delay! This is to ensure that both the Online Theory (4.0 Hrs) and Online Exam (1.0 Hr) pre-requisites are successfully completed and recorded before you can attend the In-Person Sessions.

The OVA Membership Registration System (MRS) is the primary source for OVA membership, tournament and event registration. The OVA provides a helpful How to Register in MRS guides to help with your registration. The MRS system uses a member’s email address as their user ID, so each member must have a unique email address to register. For example, trying to use a single, shared, family email for more than 1 registration will result in errors.
First, create your profile following the existing member or new member steps below
Existing members
Players, coaches, club contacts, or other roles can update their current MRS profiles to include the Volunteer role.
Following the registration link should take you directly to the clinic registration form.
New Members
If you are not an existing member of the OVA you will first need to create your MRS account.
Then, once logged in, click on the registration link again to be taken directly to the clinic registration form.
When creating your profile please note:

Select/Add the Complementary/Volunteer role to avoid paying any referee membership fees at this time

Kingston and the surrounding are part of OVA’s Region 6 (R6 – East Ontario)

For college and university students and military personnel moving into the area - You must use your local, Kingston-area address to register. This is the primary address OVA uses for assigning officials and is the location from which mileage is calculated for all events by both the OVA and KDVC.
